Katherine Heigl discusses her experiences as a child within a "white bubble" has impacted the way that she raised her adoptive multiracial family. In an interview, actress Katherine Heigl, who plays "Firefly Lane" actress, along with "Grey's Anatomy", actress revealed her body didn't matter to her. However, when talking to her adoptive sister from South Korea about how society treated them, she became conscious of the differences the two were. Meg was asked whether her treatment was different while they were together with their parents and then in the case of going out on their own. She replied "Oh Yes, all the occasion!" Heigl told her parents this made her realize how naive she had been. She became enraged by the incident, and decided to channel her anger into support her two adopted daughters. Heigl along with her long-time husband -- singer Josh Kelley -- have four-year-old son Joshua Bishop Kelley, Joshua Bishop Kelley, Jr. Their daughter Nancy Leigh was adopted from South Korea by the couple in 2009; Adalaide is an Black 8-year-old girl who was adopted by the couple in 2012.
