Audrey Tautou, the oldest of four siblings was born on August 8, 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de-Domme. Audrey's parents as a dentist and teacher, were aware of and encouraged their daughter's love for theater and drama at an early stage. This support is more than enough for Audrey to overcome her original ambition to be a the first primatologist. The rise was swift for her to become an internationally renowned young actress. Before she began to pursue her acting career, Tautou was a participant in Jeunes Premiers an French talent search TV program sponsored by Canal+ in 1998. Her photography largely focuses on fame and celebrity and then turns her camera to the journalists who scrutinised her following her sudden rise in fame and fortune with Amelie and several self-portraits. Audrey Tautou rose to fame and stardom with her major part in the film Le Fabuleux of Amelie Poulain. Amelie was a box-office international success, and received accolades at awards galas around all over the world. The film is still the top grossing French film across the US.
