Nadia Comaneci - (born on 12 November 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej / Now Onesti, Romania), Romanian gymnast. First gymnast in history to earn a 10. competing in the Olympics. Bela Karolyi, later Romanian Gymnastics Coach discovered Comaneci when she was just six years old. Her first competition was at the junior national championships in 1969 placing 13th and she won the competition in 1970. Her first competition in the international arena was in 1972 a pre-Olympic junior competition for communist-bloc nations she won three gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1974 she became an the all-around junior champion. In 1975 she was awarded 4 gold and 1 silver medal in her debut senior international contest. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European champion. She was the first female ever to perform the backwards double salto while dismounting from an uneven parallel bar. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her career in the entertainment industry began during her teens when she began doing figure skating alongside her younger twin sister Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne born 6 September 1942 Chicago Illinois US. Carol was a part of the entertainment business as a teenager. The path she took to success began when she joined her sister Nina Wayne to perform in Ice Capades, a traveling performance. Ice Capades featured performances of skating on ice performed by actors.
